SUPERVISION · EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICE

Supervision That Changes Practice: From Feedback to Competence

About this course

Build supervision decisions from observable implementation, select training that fits skill deficits and context, deliver usable feedback, and evaluate transfer and continued support. Six modules combine guided reading, fictional workplace cases, scoring examples, and multiple-choice application.

Learn to assess performance, use Behavioral Skills Training, distinguish client prompts from supervisor assistance, and interpret research and supervision outcomes without overstating the evidence.

What you will learn

  • Translate a supervision concern into an observable target skill and a scoring checklist that distinguishes independent performance, prompted performance, errors, and unobserved opportunities.
  • Select and justify a training response using observed skill deficits and contextual barriers, including appropriate use of Behavioral Skills Training.
  • Select behavior-specific feedback that identifies an observed response, the relevant expectation, and an actionable practice step.
  • Interpret supervisee and supervisor performance data, identify limitations, and develop a plan for generalization, maintenance, and continued support.
