About this course
Session documentation should communicate what occurred clearly enough for another professional to understand the activities, the learner’s responses, and the procedures implemented. This course helps RBTs distinguish objective descriptions from opinions, write about behavioral events accurately, and report variables that may affect treatment. All exercises use fictional cases and general documentation principles.
Learn through bilingual explanations, illustrations, fictional cases, and multiple-choice activities. These selected-response activities assess knowledge and case judgment; they do not demonstrate observed clinical implementation, authored-document skill, or crisis-response competence.
What you will learn
- Distinguish objective descriptions from interpretations in at least six examples.
- Select an accurate antecedent-response-following-event description that does not infer function from one observation.
- Select a session paragraph that includes the available activity, instruction, learner response, procedure, and outcome without inventing facts.
- Differentiate independent and prompted responses in session documentation.
- Select relevant environmental and health information with accurate attribution of caregiver-reported facts.
- Choose accurate corrections for unsupported conclusions, missing procedure details, copied information, and actions that did not occur.
- Identify when an incident or unexpected change requires prompt supervisory communication under the stated procedures.
- Select confidentiality-protective ways to discuss, transmit, and store session information.

- Documentation as a clinical handoff: 15 planned minutes
- Observable language and unsupported interpretations: 15 planned minutes
- Reconstructing a factual session sequence: 15 planned minutes
- Prompt levels, procedures, and actual outcomes: 15 planned minutes
- Context, source attribution, escalation, and privacy: 15 planned minutes
- Session-note comparison and correction laboratory: 15 planned minutes
- Worked quality review and synthesis: 10 planned minutes
Assessment and completion: Complete all seven modules and their multiple-choice activities, pass the 20-question final assessment with at least 16 correct answers (80%), and confirm your learner information. Submit the course evaluation as directed. Final assessment time is separate from the 100 planned instructional minutes.
Completion documentation: After all course requirements are met and your learner information is confirmed, Bhavioral Academy automatically generates your completed official BACB PDU form (constancia) with the coordinator’s authorized signature, ready for immediate download. Taking both language versions does not provide duplicate credit.
Professional scope: Designed for RBTs with foundational behavior-analytic training who work under supervision. Follow the individualized plan and your supervisor’s instructions. This course does not replace required supervision, safety training, or direct observation of implementation.
