Artificial Intelligence in ABA: Ethics, Privacy, and Clinical Accountability

About this course

Learn to evaluate AI-assisted clinical notes, program proposals, and educational materials using source records, privacy review, and professional accountability. Work through fictional cases that distinguish recorded observations, calculations, hypotheses, and unsupported claims.

What you will learn

  • Distinguish documented observations, calculations, clinical hypotheses, and unsupported AI additions in a draft.
  • Link an AI-use decision to relevant BACB ethical responsibilities rather than treating output fluency as evidence.
  • Identify confidentiality risks across input, processing, storage, access, and secondary use, and determine when organizational review is needed.
  • Correct a clinical note using original data while preserving uncertainty, prompt levels, and the limits of the observation.
  • Evaluate a proposed program for assessment support, competence, client preferences, consent, measurement, and implementation feasibility.
  • Review educational claims, citations, translations, and accessibility before release.
  • Document an accept, revise, hold, or reject decision with an accountable reviewer and follow-up action.
